Help Raise Funds for The Slate Foundation

Host a house party

This has been a common and successful type of fundraiser in the past. It can be organized easily. It can be as simple as inviting friends over, or as extravagant as sending out personal invitations or posting fliers for your event. People can bring food or refreshments, or you can provide some as a way to make the event more amenable.

Run for a reason!

If you are running a marathon or 5k in your home town, don't do it alone! Register as an athletic fundraiser for The Slate Foundation on our imAthlete page. Just click this link below, select "Become a fundraiser" from the column on the left to quickly create your fundraiser page for The Slate Foundation. Then get your family and friends to support your cause and run your local race knowing you are educating children and saving wildlife!

Host a dinner party or potluck

Host a dinner party or arrange a potluck with friends. Have a donation box available. Alternately, ask people to buy tickets to the dinner or charge a reasonable admission fee.

Set up a donation box somewhere

Local businesses, restaurants, schools and jobs are all great places to do this.

Organize a benefit concert

Ask local bands to volunteer their time by playing in a small venue, at a school, or in a park and donate the proceeds from the ticket sales to The Slate Foundation. Or, if you want to go big, invite a well-known band to headline an event and donate a percentage to our cause.

Give a Gift in Memory of a Loved One or for a Special Occasion

Giving a gift to TSF is a special way to pay tribute to the memory of a beloved friend, relative or pet OR to honor a loved one in times of celebration such as a wedding, birthday or graduation. You also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to protect endangered animals for future generations.

We will send a special acknowledgement card to the person you are honoring or to friends or family of your loved one to inform them of your gift. We will also send you an acknowledgement for your gift.

Matching Funds

Does your employer sponsor a matching gift program for which TSF may qualify? If so, you could double your support to TSF with a matching gift. Contact your employer and ask if this giving opportunity is available. If you are not sure if your employer participates in such a program, but would like to donate now, simply provide us with your employer name and contact information and we will contact them for you. Once we find out, we will let you know!

Have a car, truck, boat, plane, computer, camera, GPS, or other things that might be useful in the field? Contact us! We'll put them to work!

The Great Migration Against Poaching 5k Walk

September 10, 2011

The Great Migration Against Poaching 5k Walk raises funds for The Slate Foundation's immediate needs such as program expenses, outreach, and building the Living School.

The 5k loop on the pedestrian path of Santa Monica Beach starts at Beach Park #1, 2509 Barnard Way, Santa Monica, CA. (1 block north of where Ocean Park Blvd hits the beach!) It continues along the ocean front to the turn around point at Wilshire Blvd and ends back at Beach Park #1.

Bring your children, bring your pets, and have a morning of fun while raising money for a great cause!
